Everything you need to know before and after you order.

Privacy policy

We only collect the data needed to process your order and to look after you as a customer: your name, delivery address, email address, phone number and payment details (handled directly by our secure payment provider — we never store your card numbers).

How we use your data

Retention and security

We keep your data for as long as it is needed for the purposes above and to meet our legal obligations (accounting and warranty records). It is transmitted in encrypted form and is never sold to third parties.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your data, and the right to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, email contact@vortex-scooters.co.uk or write to us at our registered office. If you are not happy with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Returns & refunds

60 days to change your mind — full refund, no reason needed.

You have 60 days from the day you receive your order to return the VORTEX Z10 to us for a full refund. This goes beyond your statutory 14-day right to cancel.

How to return an item

  1. Email contact@vortex-scooters.co.uk quoting your order number;
  2. We will send you the return address and instructions;
  3. Send the product back complete (scooter, charger, accessories) in its original packaging;
  4. We refund to your original payment method within 14 days of receiving the parcel back.

Your statutory rights

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you may cancel an online order for any reason within 14 days of receiving it, and then have a further 14 days to send the goods back.

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If the VORTEX Z10 is faulty you have 30 days from delivery to reject it for a full refund. After that, you are entitled to a repair or replacement, and to a price reduction or a refund if that does not put things right. These rights are in addition to, and are not affected by, the 60-day guarantee above.

Nothing in these policies affects your statutory rights.

3-year warranty

Three years from the date of delivery against manufacturing defects in the frame, motors, controller and battery.

How to claim

Email contact@vortex-scooters.co.uk with your order number, a description of the fault and photographs or a short video. Keep your order confirmation — it is your proof of purchase.

This warranty is in addition to your legal rights, not instead of them. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 you may have claims against us for up to six years in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and five years in Scotland, regardless of what this warranty says. Nothing here limits those rights.

Placing an order

Placing an order on this website means you accept these terms. The contract is formed once payment is confirmed, and you will receive a confirmation email summarising your order.

Prices and payment

Prices are shown in pounds sterling and include VAT at the applicable rate. Promotional offers are subject to availability. Payment is taken by card (Visa, Mastercard and American Express) through a secure, encrypted platform.

Using the product

The VORTEX Z10 is a high-powered off-road personal transporter with a peak output of 4,000 W and a top speed of 40 mph. Its use is subject to the law in force where you ride it — see Where you can ride it below. Read the user manual before your first ride, and always wear a helmet and appropriate protective equipment. It is not supplied with type approval and is not intended for use on public roads.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your local courts. We will always try to resolve a complaint informally first. If we cannot, you may be able to use an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) scheme approved by the Chartered Trading Standards Institute. You can also get free advice from Citizens Advice on 0808 223 1133 or at citizensadvice.org.uk.

Where you can legally ride the VORTEX Z10

Please read this before you order. In the UK, a privately owned e-scooter can only be used on private land with the landowner's permission. It cannot legally be ridden on public roads, pavements, cycle lanes, bridleways or in public parks anywhere in England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland.

Under the Road Traffic Act 1988, e-scooters are classed as motor vehicles. That means they would need type approval, registration, road tax, insurance and a valid licence category to be used on a public road — requirements that no privately sold e-scooter currently meets. The only e-scooters that may lawfully be used on public roads are those supplied through official government rental trial schemes, and only within their trial area.

What this means in practice

Note that the Z10 produces up to 4,000 W and 40 mph. Even if private e-scooters are legalised in future, the Government has indicated that any approved category would be limited to around 15.5 mph, so a machine of this power is unlikely ever to qualify for public-road use. The law may change. The Government has signalled that it intends to regulate privately owned e-scooters at some point, but as at the date of this page no legislation has been passed to make them legal on public roads.
